lettering set for NEW HAVEN’s 70-ton AAR flat cars

In October 1944, the NH received 100 AAR design 70-Ton at cars from Greenville Steel Car Co, GSC O.O. 422. Series 17300-17399. Trucks:

70-ton Barber spring plankless 5’-8” w.b.
 

Note: Up to 85 of these cars were equiped for Trailer-On-Flat-Car (TOFC) service starting in 1947 to 1953, before reverting back to regular FM

at cars in 1954. In 1959, 7 cars from 17300- Series were tted with bulkhead ends and assigned to Gypsum board delivery and renumbered
