70-Ton ACF A-3 Ride Control trucks with 5’-8” w.b.and 2 coil spring pattern

Built by American Steel Foundries who developed this truck with built-in snubbers, the A-3 was essentially an AAR truck with ASF’s spring and wedge design.  Both the A-3 and Barber S-2 were built under license by several truck manufactures, were an immediate success and remained very popular until both were upgraded into roller bearing trucks.

This fully assembled, all-brass model by Boo Rim Precision of Korea, follow’s ASF’s plans and features ball bearings, working journal covers, full brake detail, fully equalized construction with working springs, tapered stainless steel axles, and sintered (70% iron and 30% stainless steel) smooth-back wheels with accurate AAR profile.  Treads will polish to a realistic running appearance.
