Lettering for 1932 ARA design boxcars

Part Number: CofG-2

Price: $8.50

In March 1937, the Central of Georgia received 500 1932 ARA 9’-4” IH design boxcars from Pullman-Standard’s Bessemer, Alabama plant, as Lot 5568, and assigned as Series 4000-4499. These photos exhibit the 1937 round style lettering and the 30 x 48 inch medallion of the as-delivered scheme. In 1944 the new square corner lettering was introduced, but only as the cars were repainted, so this scheme would be seen for many more years on these cars. Paint & Lettering: Car sides and ends were painted freight car brown: TCP-902, with underbody and roof coated with Texaco black car cement; truck side frames painted with PPG Black; wheels unpainted.

Background color shown above is not included in decal sheet
