Lettering for 1944 War Emergency design boxcars

Part Number: A&WP-2

Price: $8.50

In January 1944 the Georgia Railway system received 225 10’-0” IH wood-sheathed, composite boxcars, a design approved by the War Production Board that saved valuable steel, from Pullman-Standard Car Co, as Lot 5753. The cars were further allocated within the Georgia system with 60 of these cars going to the A&WP as Series 37400-37459.

Paint & Lettering: Car sides, ends and underframes were painted with PPG Carhide #N-4780 RR Standard Paint. Paint chips make this color a match for Group III medium red-brown: TCP-903. Roof and truck side frames coated with Durite black car cement. Lettering is Snolite White stencil paste.
