Price: $8.50

The Canadian National Railway had 5,725 1937 AAR design boxcars with Murphy Flat Panel roofs. Built in Canada by 3 major car builders - CCF, ECC and NSC. Paint & Lettering: Recommended color is Oxide Red with a dash of orange added, to achieve CN’s mineral brown. It might be wise to add a 10-15% gray to cut
down this a bit as it may look too bright on a model. Underbody, truck side frames and brake equipment were coated with black car cement. After 1943, these
components were painted mineral brown as well.

Cars were delivered without slogans or medallions. As-delivered lettering was only applied with the reporting marks and road name on the left side of the
door. Beginning in 1945 and to 1954, the maple leaf medallion containing the slightly skewed box “Serves All Canada” was applied. (see Protocraft Decals
CN-3a). Between June 1954 to 1957, the maple leaf with the “Serves All Canada” in a straight horizontal box was applied - decal set CN-3b.
