lettering for 1937 AAR design boxcars - 1955 gothic scheme

In March 1942, the NYC took delivery of 1,073 boxcars of the 1937 AAR design from the Dispact Shops, Inc. in East Rodchester, N.Y. DSI lot
779, and NYC Lot 703-B as follows:

Series 157000-157299, 300 cars, Dispatch Shops, Inc., NYC Lot 703-B. Delivered March 1942 - 7-Panel Superior doors
Series 157300-158072, 773 cars, Dispatch Shops, Inc., NYC Lot 703-B. Delivered March 1942 - Youngstown doors

Paint & Lettering: Cars painted with NYC red-brown: TCP-923. Be sure an mix in a small amount of TCP-179 grey to replicate normal oxidation.
Underbody and truck side frames coated with black car cement. Wheels and axles left unpainted and allowed to rust and gather road grime.
Lettering all white stencil paste.
Note: Up until mid-1944 to 1945, cars were stenciled without the black backgound in the NYC oval. At the end of this period and up until the
modenerized scheme was adopted in 1955, NYC went back to having black backgounds in the oval.
