UP’s 1947 40’ autocar

Part Number: PC-3313-O

Sold Out

In December of 1947, the UP received 500 40’ auto cars from American Car & Foundry under Lot 3115, as Class A-50-19 and assigned Series 475000-475499. In keeping with the UP’s program of lighter side material the cars utilized an alternate rivet pattern in 10-panel sides, with a unique lower strengthened side sill, and the new Improved 4/4 Dreadnaught ends. Cars came with Apex running boards, Ajax hand brake assemblies, chain storage pipes in the floor protruding 18” below the under frame, Royal F Brake adjusters and ASF A-3 ride control solid bearing trucks. The model has been accurately replicated by BooRim Precision of Korea. Model trucks run on ball bearings for easy rolling, with double insulated smooth-back sintered steel wheels. Accurate decals specific to this car are available from Protocraft Decals as UP-7. Only 30 models built. For Proto:48 - Part Number PC-3313-P, and for O scale - Part Number PC-3313-O
