lettering set for 1923 ARA 8’-7” IH design steel boxcars - as delivered scheme

In August 1930, the C&O received 1,500 Class B5-2, 1923 ARA design steel boxcars from Standard Steel Car Company as follows:
 

Series 8001-9000, 1,000 cars, Standard Steel Car Co. delivered August 1930 - 6’ Youngstown doors

Series 8000, 9001-9499, 500 cars, Standard Steel Car Co. delivered August 1930 - 6’ 3-Panel Creco doors

Series 282000-283499, 1,441 additional cars were received from Pere Marguette between 1948-1958
 

In 1961, there were 2775 of these original cars still in revenue service.
