lettering for SP’s H-70-15/17 ballast cars - 1956 scheme - a Rick Leach decal set

In 1953 the SP and it’s aliate T&NO, received 775 70-ton ballast cars. These were delivered in Class as follows:

 

H-70-15 - SP Series 460557-460861, 125 cars, American Car & Foundry, Lot 4705 - delivered October, 1956

H-70-15 - T&NO Series 41150-41299, 150 cars, American Car & Foundry, Lot 4705 - delivered October, 1956

H-70-17 - T&NO Series 2000-2249 (in 1961 renumbered to 461432-461678), 250 cars, American Car & Foundry - delivered March 1957

 

Paint & Lettering: Car body and trucks (wheels unpainted) all SP freight car brown: TCP-923. Both SP and T&NO. Lettering white stencil paste with the large 2’ block lettering.
