Return to list of all Steam Locomotive decals in 1:48 scale Next lettering for Santa Fe’s aluminum steam lettering - 1930-1960
The Santa Fe numbered their steam locomotive eet with 24” Roman style numbers centered on the tender side. In the spring of 1940, the road name “SANTA FE” was added just below the top of the tank in a thin Roman 24” letter font. Number board numbers however were in aluminum 7” sans-serif design, while sand dome road numbers remained 5” Roman numbers. All lettering up to the mid-1950’s was aluminum leaf. Headlight road numbers were 4-1/2” and of polished white metal castings.
