Lettering for MP, M-I, StLB&M and I-GN Modified 1937 10'-6" IH boxcars - 1953 scheme

Between March 1942 and September 1945, the MP took delivery from AC&F 1,375 Modied 1937 AAR steel box cars in three Lots, all with the unusual straight sill tab between bolsters. Lot #2341 were assigned road numbers 32500-33299; Lot #2419 were assigned road numbers 34119-34262, Lot 2420 were assigned road numbers 34263-34287; and Lot 2761, numbers 34300-34599. The cars received 42’ diameter monograms and the slogan “Route of the Eagles” beginning in June of 1949. Cars were painted all boxcar brown (Floquil #74) Door placards, underbody and truck side frames painted black car cement. Wheels were unpainted and allowed to rust and gather a coating of axle grease. Lettering and artwork designed and created at Protocraft Decals
